42 to 48 Months

Little ways your child can multitask. In most situations, your child will want (and do best) to focus on one thing at a time. But at around age 3, your child can probably follow two-step commands (“Get your shoes, and bring them to me.”). With growing strength and dexterity, your child also will likely begin to ride a tricycle at this age, a task that requires coordinating her hands (steering) and feet (pushing on the pedals).
