24-30 Months

Encourage hands-on fun. At 2 years, it’s time to set out child-safe art supplies: erasable crayons, clay, finger paints, and more. Just be sure to stay nearby, in case your toddler gets too creative—after all, you don’t want him chewing on crayons or turning the living room wall into a canvas. If you watch carefully right about now, you may see your child more consistently choose to use one hand over the other.
